Hello! I purchased devil’s ivy for my bird room. When I looked it up on the internet, it said it was bird safe. I just wanted to double check here that it won’t harm my cockatiels before I put it up!!

Here is what the plant looks like:

Also, I wanted to mount some magnolia branches on the walls so my tiels will be able to perch up there as well. What would you guys recommend for mounting? How can I be sure that nails/hooks/other hardware is not going to give them heavy metal poisoning?

Not devil's ivy, but heart leaf philodendron, the variety of it called Brazil. It is mildly toxic, but most birds wont eat it as it's very bitter. They may destroy it. I like hanging branches from the ceiling with chains.

Again though, this is not devil's ivy, it is a philodendron.
I have had canaries eat big bites out of the leaves.
They were fine.
