For Charles, yes. Have them weld an extra bar across the gap.

I have one of those that my tiel would perch on when she went to bed. I never worried about the spacing on the back because I put a couple snuggle things up there for her (RIP).

I know this was directed at Saroj, but the one I have is GREAT!! The welds are flawless and it is super shiny and well-made!!

Ok Tricia said the ones for bigger birds like Lola are electropolished as they are double welded which discolors the metal, requiring polishing. The little guy ones like I have are resistance welded, which does not discolor the metal anywhere as much, so they do not polish those.
They are still pretty nice looking, no complaints

That's actually what I was planning on doing since her new cage won't have a porch I was thinking of buying a second shelf to stick outside one of the doors.
