So i checked with several places who can sew custom slipcovers. I need this because I miscalculated on the couch fabric and it's a little fuzzy for a chicken-scratching poi!
They all came back and said just go out and get you a new couch....it costs too much to sew a slipcover.
Then I found this place and will order this weekend

they said send pictures in addition to the measurements. I had to stop off at hobby lobby for a tape measure :D

i'm thinking elasticized cushion covers in solid tan canvas, and the rest of the couch the same....

In addition to several rulers, I have a wooden 3ft yard stick, a metal one, a cloth tape measure, a Stanley 25ft, a Craftsman 30ft and several others of various lengths and widths :) What can I say....

Edit: Oh wait and that's just in the house not counting the shop.... :D

I have a tape measure upstairs, a tape measure downstairs, and a tape measure in the garage. And I also keep one specifically for garment fitting!
That way, I can REALLY tell if I'm losing inches off my waist or not (currently not! Oi!)

:eek:okay okay so I asked around and we do have two of those carpenter type tape measures here, but no fabric tape measure that I can drape over the couch for measurements. Hey but I picked up two so now I too have measuring devices! :dance4::dance4::dance4:
Just like you all!!
How are you supposed to store this yellow plasticky fabric tape measure? I can't see myself carefully folding it so I will jumble it up into a ball and shove it in some closet. The other fabric kind I got is retractable .... that I can handle :dance5::dance5::dance5:

I may have you all beat .. lmao ...

I have a mini tape measure attached to my key ring, just in case I'm anywhere that a birdie inspired project idea may strike, and I need to measure lengths, widths and diameters.

I have issues .. serious mental issues :faint:

I keep a rubber band around my fabric tape measure. Don't feel bad Saroj. Went looking for the carpenter type the other day and the only one I could find was broken{tape is broke inside and won't come out} my little one with the rubber band, or this metal 'L' looking thing...:rolleyes:And hubby is a mechanic.I can never even find a good screw driver around here..

can we be serious now?:rofl:

they sent swatches and i realized twill is what will stand up to his beak. the damask is pretty but fragile. the basketweave is gorgeous but nail snaggy
so i have to choose a color of twill
like the brick but red in the bird room is a no-no for me....can't detect blood.

http://www.slipcovershop.com/SearchFabricView.asp

i searched for twill

white is so pretty but.....
