Hiya everyone,

With my life settling down now...I'm hopefully getting the job I want, I have lots of space and time, and I'm starting to consider what type of parrot to adopt next. So far I've only got diddy birds so won't mind a bigger one, but I'm not ready for a cockatoo (as much as I want an RB2 and a G2) or a really massive bird like a hyacinth macaw (I WISH!!). So I've been searching around places near me and I have found some -possible suiters but would like your opinions because I know there's only so much you can read about a species.

The first option (and one of my dream birds) is a White Bellied Caique, however they're very rare in England and the only place I've found wanting to rehome one is quite a way away so I'm not sure if I'd be too happy putting a single bird through all of that stress of travelling/I'd want to meet it first.

My next option (another dream bird) a Timneh African Grey, I've found a breeder so I imagine I can call up and ask lots of questions and I love the independance of a grey aswell as it's intelligence.

Another option is a pair of lories I've found for adotion, they're gorgeous!I know their diet needs to be monitored but I'm more than happy to do that but I'm not sure about the noise level.

Ofcourse I am also looking at re-home centres. I've found a eckkie called Fred that wants a new home - he looks very gorgeous, and again they have specialised diets which is fine but I'm not too sure about the noise level. And last but not least, a blue fronted amazon named Dorcus, I think he's fit in well.

So yes...advice please :)

Are you worried about noise?

I'm happy if they have their shouty moments - I actually enjoy them - I just don't think I could handle a constant screech-y kind of noise.

Well I can tell you about amazons. They are loud, the chew like no tomrorow, hyper, hilarious, outgoing, lovable. Aly goes threw horomonal phases which she just got over, tantrums and biting. Now she is a suckie that demands scritches every morning or she throws a fit. They can have a hard bite if they are aggressive but they do not carry as much dust like a cockatoo. They can be challanging but Im telling you, the moment I laid eyes on Aly I new she was meant to be mine. They are amazing birds and extremely smart.
