:hehe: my budgies!! They ignore 80% of the stuff I buy for them (toys, perches, food).

I have a very hard time grabbing their attention and seeing them enjoy or play with something. So imagine my surprise this morning when I go in to clean their cage and give them breakfast when I saw this...

I didn't know what it was at first, and got alarmed
a closer look told me what had happened.

Quite often it is a case of trial and error when it comes to finding something for them to play with. Glad you found something they like. :)

image.jpg I wasn't kidding about them loving their cork perch!! Look what I found when I came home from work today!

It came right off the bolt and was lying at the bottom of the cage!!

How do I use the remaining cork?

Why not see if you can attach the hanger bolt in another place...if they continue to chew right at the bolt, I would stick with toys with the cork bark :)

I gave them one of the perches that was originally designated to my bigs :shy: , that one should keep them ocuppied for more than a few days :hehe: To not feel too bad one of my bigs didn't get a perch this time, I skewered the remaining cork. It took so much effort to get that rod across it! :dead: I will look into buying a drill maybe :hehe: thank you for the suggestions. On a unrelated note, Tequila LOVED her balsa stairway to heaven. It's in heaven now bc she totally destroyed it a few days ago

:loveit:
Would have been nice if they started from the other end though!
I know!! Isn't that always the way? :hehe:

thank you everyone!! :hug8: :hug8: :hug8:

I was scared to get a drill, but I love it! I only drill holes in the ceiling/walls and through wood and things for bird toys so I went the cheap route and got one for under $15 from Harbor Freight during their Father's day sale. It even came with a rechargeable flash light. :hehe: Thought if I went cheap and I didn't use it, I wouldn't have to feel too guilty. :wacky: I think I paid an extra $1.99 for a set of bits.
