Urgent Cone too long/tight???

How can you tell if the noodle cone is too long or too tight?? Back from the vet this evening and I did ask the tech but it still seems a bit severe too me... he was mutilating his chest. Supposed to wear this 2 weeks if he will continue to eat with it on... Charlie is very angry. Not sure he will tolerate it well.

It looks fine. That type of cone intentionally hyper extends the neck so he can’t reach his chest. But bird necks are made to do that much easier than ours.

Thank you for the reply. We ended up taking it off. He didn't eat and had extreme night frights that night. Unholy screeching scared the heck out of both of us at 3 AM. Going back to try the plucking vest again!
