I'm so sorry for your loss of Chili. You made the right, but very tough, decision.

With so many birdies needing a home, I think you are right to think of opening your home and heart to one in need sooner, rather than later.

Thank you all for sharing. I went ahead and put her to peace last night. I decided waiting till Saturday was for me and the risk of her suffering too great.

Her cage has always been in my living room. Now I look to it and see it's empty.

Even tho it seems fast, since I work at a rescue, the cage will more than likely have a new member in the not too distant future. Too many birdies need homes. I will not ever be taking another female...and even as I say that...I know if one needs me she'll come on home...
