Hello, all members.
Came here for advice and knowledge based on experience.
I have 3 cockatiels.
2 of them are my “ old babies” .
My oldest, Charlie is 18. His “ son”, Freckles is 15. He was born in the palm of my hand, literally out of the egg.
My female cockatiel is relatively new- she is only 3 years old- I bought her from a private pet store.
She is bleeding from her vent. The blood is bright red. Some droppings mixed with feces.
This is 4 th time it’s happening to her in last 2 years.
Can anyone surmise what the reason may be?
No, she is Not egg- bound. I personally checked.
this happens every 3-4 months.
First time it happened I took her to emergency avian vet in Manhattan-$1,500 later they could not tell me what was wrong with her!
Next day- her poops were absolutely fine!
it just happened again.30 min ago.
I don’t know what to do
Any advice or insight- please?
kind regards to all,
Tatiana
