Pictures Cheap but functional hanging perch/swing!

I recently started working at my local lumber and hardware store, so I started paying attention when they culled wonky pieces of lumber. Found myself some 8 foot untreated furring strips (2"x2") of white pine for 70% off, meaning I paid a grand total of $1 for 16 feet of wood. I cut them down into smaller chunks about 3 feet each, and just hung this up in the bird room today:





Nothing fancy, but cheap! Basically just put some eyescrews into the wood and ceiling, connected it to the ceiling with plastic chain and quicklinks for easy change out when this is inevitably chewed down, and added a toy to play with as well. I'll see tomorrow how the boys like it, since I put it up too close to bed time to test it out.

Should be fun to see how they do with the new swinging motion. Everything else they have hangs from a center point, they haven't dealt with something with two connections!

That is my favorite thing ever - the Mother Pluckin Bird Toys Atom! Sadly I don't see them on their website right now and I know they are on vacation, but Oliver's Garden sells an Odd Ball that is comparable.

This one is about 3 years old? And still looks like the day I bought it. And it's used every day!

Love the hanging perch! I have the 12 inch Odd Ball and my guys love it. It's their favourite place to hang out.

Wow! It does look brand new! That is so amazing. Most bird toys are chewed up and spat out by then haha! I really want to buy one now! Plus my cockatiels are suer gentle.

Jingo I'm sure will be fine, Bobber is a little more hesitant with new things but he's a sucker for a hunk of pine

I needed it to be roomy so they could both be on it without getting annoyed with each other lol
