I'm sure Danita is going to post the FULL story of the adventures surrounding getting this Java wood tree to Vancouver Island, Canada - from Kathie @ MSBS.
In the meantime, this is the carved tabletop Java tree I purchased for Coco (GW).
You may wonder - Why not a full size tree?
I've always used tabletop Java trees for large macaws & they work just great!
The pine table it sits on was custom made for us, to exactly fit the base of any tabletop Java tree.
I also have a matching custom made pine dresser, made with extra deep drawers - for toy storage.
The top of the dresser was also designed to fit any Java tabletop base.
So, I will get a second Java tabletop soon.
Look close and you can see the parrot carved into the wood near the bottom.
Nice touch; I like it although it's crossed my mind if Coco will chew it off soon?
That one lone bolt you see - is where you are supposed to screw in the bowl that comes with the tree.
However, I have the SS bowl and holder set coming from Don (www.donsbirds.com)
My husband will remove the bolt you see in the pic.
The stand is actually much larger than it appears. Coco will have access to a Crawler, some thick ropes for climbing and a large boing...all within access of this stand.
