Does anyone have any recommendations for heating methods that I can leave on during the day while I am gone from the birds? I’ve been looking at heated perches. If anyone has any that they recommend please drop the link below!

I have a K&H heated panel for my disabled Amazon, Chico. I would recommend the large as they are not very big at all:

Personally I steer clear of heated perches ever since I heard of a faulty one getting very hot, but that was some years ago.

I also have an oil heater near the cage. Something like this:

I have this oil heater in Duckies room. It’s the coziest room in the house:

I just got a small space heater for my birds today. I’m still messing with the heat setting to get it dialed in to the perfect temp. I left it on for an hour and the room temp was at 75° and still climbing. Im aiming to keep the room around 71° though.

I use a heated perch for Ripley which he loves. He also has an infrared heating panel similar to a Sweeter Heater.

we’ve got a radiant heater or oil heater or whatever it’s called in the bird room, but if you want something directly on the cage, you can get a radiant heat panel. The sweeter heater is the exact same radiant heat panel that’s used for reptiles, so it's possible getting one that’s not namebrand would be cheaper.

Edit to add: Reptile Radiant Heat

Do you have a link to the perch you use? I’ve seen about 50/50 split recommending them and opposing them in other forums.

I know there's different opinions on the heated perches, but for my birds with arthritis they have been absolutely amazing. Ripley has had one go out on him but it went cold, not overheated. I wish they still made the sandy ones because those are his favorite.

I swear by sweeter heater , I've had it a very very long time. It's supported my sick birds , and I know it played a role in their survival, my veterinarian felt so too . My cheap windows and terrible heat pump , it's needed for cold snaps
