Well, upon wondering what to do on a Saturday before I have to go to work, I decided to take the random 5.5 gallon tank I had lying around and make it an arboreal tarantula cage. I've got a pink toe tarantula sitting around that might enjoy the extra room.

Got the acrylic cut. Waiting for the silicone to dry now ;)

Pink toes are great

They're what started my love for tarantulas. :xflove: I was buying meal worms for my bearded dragon at my mom and pop pet store when they had one on display. Some months later, I bought my first pink toe tarantula. Been in love with the species ever since. When the cage is finished I'll post pics but it's likely going to be a few days from now.

Well, even with needing a new car battery, I was still able to come up with something simple and efficient in a decent amount of time. I just used what I had...

New cage (without it's new host):

"Fluffy" not wanting to leave home:

"Fluffy" fangs! and pink toes  !

Old/New cage:

And yes, I'm in a bath tub, just in case he slipped past me  They're easier to catch that way!

I used to use clasps and hooks instead of velcro on the front for similar previous cages, but I've learned to really like the velcro I use.
