The moon is just huge and bright these days that's for sure. I was staring at it just the other night. :)

We just had a lunar maximum on the 19th of March; the earth was the closest it will get to the moon for another 18 years. That is why it is so bright and large.

However, the moon does continue to move away from the earth at about half an inch a year and someday in the far future it will break loose of the earth permanently.

Great picture. I have a soft spot for moon pictures.
