So as absolutely obsessed as I am with parrots my first animal love is Lions. Ever since I watched The Lion King when I was a tender tot of 3 they have been my ultimate most beloved animal. I just cant get enough of them they are perfection. So now that I'm really into photography I've been chomping at the bit to be able to go to the Zoo and get some proper high quality pics. Going to the Zoo is a special treat since its a ways away and my family isn't as into animals as I am so its not easy to go.
But the other issue is the last few times I've been able to go over the years the Lion pride is never really out in their enclosure. Years ago when my cousin was visiting we went but it was cold so hardly of the animals were out at so a missed chance there, then the next time last year was of course the day that they were doing Contruction right next to their enclosure so only the adult Male was in the keeper demo area for about 10 mins and we got there for the last 2 so I was able to snag a few shots on my phone but it was such a short experience.
So it was with great worry and fretting that I was afraid that once again I would be foiled and especially while having my real camera it was going to be a sad blow for me. But! I am ever so thrilled to report that not only was the almost the whole pride out in the enclosure they also did a more up close demo with the lead female and her almost grown daughters since they cant be around their brother and father at the moment so I got some lovely close up shots of them that were a lot more personal then from behind the glass. I hope yall will enjoy I had the most fabulous time and will always treasure these memories and pics. @Peachfaced @Mizzely
Young male practicing out his Roar! Absolutely amazing experience to be able to hear it.
SMILE!
Why yes I will just saunter over to that patch of sunshine and look adorably over my shoulder.
Looking so regal as he enjoys the sun.
So thrilled that I was able to snag this shot!
I really felt like she was posing just for me
I really felt like she was staring directly into my soul here..
and of course it wouldn't be an outting with young cubs if they didn't get into a tiff over something silly like an empty water bowl, lol. No one was hurt it was over in seconds just a quick blow and they were fine again.
