Blue Throated Macaw

Hi. I bought my girlfriend's Blue Throated Macaw a week ago. She purchased the bird, Rio, three years ago. It was an impulse buy, what a turkey she is.
Whenever my husband and I start talking, he screams really loud and continues until we stop talking. Forget it if the phone rings.
I have adopted my sister's two birds, Hans Macaw and an African Grey, when she passed away. When they start to yell, I can ask for kisses and they stop. ( My sister taught them to kiss).
I'm trying that with Rio but not sure if that's what I should be doing.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.
