So you all know that my initial plan was to wait till Emma's EH cage arrived and if Mabel was still unsold then I would bring her home.

Saturday that *plan* went out the door and I actually bought her and brought her home and have placed her temporarily in Sachi's First ever cage.

To say that Sachi is displeased is an understatement. I don't think she cares so much that there is another bird in apt. She is bothered that her Cage has been wheeled and away to house somebirdy else.:o: Did not think that one through and now Sachi is driving me beserk with the sounds that I dislike the most. I also feel guilty for not foreseeing how this may have affected her.

Emma seems quite fine for now. :)

This has got me thinking that perhaps the new EH cage should go to Mabel and I will purchase a second EH cage shortly after for Emma.
I am somewhat worried that Emma might take the cage thing very personally and I would hate that very much. She might NOT enjoy seeing somebirdy else in her cage even if she has a nice shiny new stainless steel one.
Emma really is my .

What do you guys think?

Does Sachi not like her SS cage? Maybe the SS cage can temporarilly go to Mabel and Sachi can get her old cage back?

I think it would be better to give the 'new cage' to the new one and when you do get one for Emma and she makes the switch - move that cage out completely

did Sachi use her old cage to play on or anything?

Yup! To eat her mashie and just to sit in there for the heck of it. Even though it was pretty Empty. Only had one perch and no toys.

I would give the new cage to Mabel and have a new one done for Emma.

I don't think Emma would care having to "wait" a bit longer for a new cage.

Plus...I think the beak of macaws are a bit more destructive so if Mabel starts playing with the cage and chips some of the paint off..you might want to put her in a SS cage sooner than later.

Sachi sounds like Koko and how attached he was to his first ever cage :(

I think the new cgae should be for Mabel.I wouldn't move emma out of her right now.then maybe sachi can have her old cage back to play on or eat mash.

Thanks Everybirdy! It will go to Mabel.

Yes the old cage remained right beside her all this time.

She was so attached to it so I let it stay.:o: I didn't realize to what extent though.

sounds like a good plan

can't have Sachi unhappy
Poor Sachi. She's had to make room for two birds.:hehe::lol:
I will decided whether I'll keep that cage after the EH cage comes. I think it's a VERY bad idea to have empty cages around. Besides Mabel's intelligent wit.. how else did I get myself in this whole situation?:p

She's bigger than Sachi but smaller than Emma. I think her current size may be due to lack of exercise, no flying and not so great diet though. She may end up blossoming into something else.;)

That's where my money is.

"Any" new bird will change the dynamics of "all" the birds in the flock.
