It can work. I use stainless steel ones for Pi. They are washed through the dishwasher after every use.

It is important to get one that is for parrots and fully stainless steel.

Some of the small animal ones are not parrot safe. Galvanic corrosion can occur and is dangerous for birds.

Pi has these :

A toy made from yucca

Comes in a variety of sizes and 2 basic shapes (doughnuts or trunks with holes)

Can be coloured.

Harder outer layer ( bark) and really soft ( fibrous) inner layer.

Can be used for IRNs.. but as with everything depends on the bird.

Can you post a pic because some places sell the skewers like fashionfobie posted and call them kabobs and other places sell toys like Buy Bird Kabob Original | Free Delivery* | The Vet Shed and call them kabobs.

Either one will be fine for your bird but they are obviously two different things.

For anyone with dogs, remember to use caution with yucca in areas the dogs can reach.

I didn't know that! I'll have to be very careful with bird Kabobs if I every get them then. (the dogs like to eat bird food droped on the floor, and knowing them, they would probably eat yucca too)

Dogs are just hooves that are more expensive and furry (so basically cause just as much mess as they tidy)
I have always wanted a cat but got a parrot cause of a disease in cats and dogs mouth that has caused people to amputated thier arms and legs. Even though there has only been 2 cases from cats worldwide.

In which case, my entire immediate family should in theory have capnocytophaga
Most healthy people commonly get infected but thier immune systems can fight it with no symptoms. It's with people who have a weakened immune system or no spleen. However nearly all of the documented cases have been healthy people and mainly through dogs. I'm not to sure but cats dont lick thier owners do they.
