"Bird Free" Claims - How do you back them up?

It's bad to be overly cautious about things pretty much outside your control, and I believe this is one of those things. Anyone is free to lie over the internet if you live nowhere close by to verify their claims. I'm not saying anyone here is lying, but the fact that it is entirely plausible remains.

On top of that, anytime you go outside you are essentially picking up all kinds of things on your hands, feet, shoes, clothes, hair, et cetera. You could interact with a total stranger, never knowing they own birds, and go home with whatever their birds might have. Maybe said stranger is bagging your groceries and putting them in your cart, then you touch said bag handles while putting them away and then touch your birds or their toys or their cages or their bowls or their food.

I highly doubt some "contamination" is going to kill anyone's bird. It can happen, but the odds are low, IMO.
