We have a female Moloccan cockatoo whom we began sending to a bird sanctuary for some stimulation & R & R during these long winter months. The first time we sent her - for 7 days - she returned home & everything went back to normal. This next time - also sent her for 7 days - she is a totally different bird since coming home. She's eating & drinking but does not come out of her cage hardly at all. Previously she would come out every day. She no longer screeches at all. Previously she screeched every time we left the room. She is extremely lovey - cuddling under the blankets with me & wanting to be rubbed. Previously she did this on occasion. I'm not sure why the drastic change. Is she missing being there with the other birds? Is she upset that we sent her there? Not sure what to make of this. Any thoughts?

How is your Cocatoo been recently? Has she been back to the Sanctuary?
