Basement Aviary

Almost finished with a basement aviary project. Still need screen put up, doors put in, and bottom plate attached to floor. Josie will end up with a 10x11' area with the smaller birds slightly smaller. Hard to take a pic of it now lol, but I'll try to get a better after picture.

Josie will be able to be cage free for most of the day when someone is home. We have camera set up to watch them. Jasper and Marshall will alternate cage free time. A bunch of stuff will be moved out so it's more Josie proof. Cabinets left in so she "thinks" she's being naughty and stealing stuff out of drawers lol.

I see a Jolly Ball! Do your birds climb in it? I spent a chunk of change on one (thinking it looked like such fun for a Quaker) and Willow avoids it.

besides the jolly ball, what a great setup for your birds. This is like bird heaven.

Josies area was finished last weekend. The other side should be done tomorrow. She's been getting used to more freedom. I have a bunch of jolly balls and ropes to hang up still.

They all use the jolly balls, but I did have to leave them up for a while before they are touched. I just put high value treats in them for a while.

She'll eventually get more comfortable and start causing trouble. This will be controlled chaos at least and then she can be out all day while I work.

How did you hang the jolly balls? I think I’m going to drill three holes and install loop hangers.
