Opened my front door and found this

Don't worry, I didn't touch or move it. We shall wait and see what happens. Although, there are a lot of cats around my house...

Have you tried approaching him to see if there are any other crows around watching? Crows are considered to be very social/family oriented so I'd be surprised if he's alone. Personally, I'd check him to see if he's injured and also look around to see if there are any branches off the ground he could be placed on for his own safety.

I glanced up in the trees to see if I saw any parents but didn't. I'll go check on it again.

Oh yeah, the parents are out there, they sounded off when I went out a second time. I thought I was going to get dive bombed. It's so cute, it has long legs and was waddling around.

Several years ago we had an injured crow in our back garden hopping around under an evergreen. When I went out to check, I found it was injured and couldn't fly but it also had it's family in hiding around it keeping it company. When I called Animal Control and they finally caught it they said it'd have to be put down because its injuries were infected. :( Since then I've always been a little leery of calling Animal Control; I felt guilty about sending that crow to a certain death even though his survival possibilities would've been slim to none.

I'll keep an eye on it, hopefully it will rest and fly off. I took an injured pigeon the the vet a fee weeks ago and they said they would call a wild life place... I have my doubts and feel bad for taking it :( It was a female and had a injured wing. I found it in a Walmart parking lot.

When I was a kid we had a tame crow flying around our woods. He would fly around and talk. Always have been interested in them. Later I heard a neighborhood man rescued injured babies, they learned to talk and hung around.

It's talking back and forth to the parents, it's pretty cute. And it's picking at its pin feathers.

I hope so too. But it's still there. Idk what to do if they don't... How long should I wait? And what do I do?

Okay. This information I have gathered from my work with raptors. From what I have heard, the baby can be left on the ground ( I know it sounds dangerous). The parents should keep on feeding it. If you can locate the nest, the baby can also be placed back in it. If the baby keeps calling and the parents are non responsive and not caring for the baby, then it may be time to make some phone calls. Is there a wildlife or avian rehab near you?

I hope this helps some.

sounds like normal fledging to me. It's precarious since he's out in the open but it's how they do it. As long as he/she is not injured it's time for he/she to learn to get by. The parents will intervene if they need to I think and will continue to feed the baby. Then again many fledglings are killed by predators so I'm not saying it's easy to let it sit there. :) But it's fully feathered so I doubt it just fell from the nest.

It looks lit it's body doesn't have feathers, mostly black down. I googled a little and one site said if it's tail is short, it's not a fledgling :chin:, and it's tail is short...
