I think with all the sugar, food dye and artificial flavoring they would be but a vendor on this forum convinced me otherwise.

We are having a little gotcha day summer party for Quackers on Sunday.

The menu:
  • Fresh watermelon
  • Bird friendly pasta salad
  • Apple Orchard Spice Bread from my sister via T4W ( his fave)
  • Instead of ice cream, we went for sweet treats from lil monsters to cool down.

These are insanely cute and bright, the balsa is so light and soft plus party favors for all. Honestly, just a bang up job all around.

I feed mine real popsicles! Make my own fruit and veggies slushy and freeze it like a small popsicle. On hot days, they like nibbling on it.
You can be creative, carrot strings and watermelon, pureed strawberry . No sugar added.

A lot of fibre in those. Not much flavour but the crunch is to die for.

What do you freeze it in? I don't want to give the little pig too much at once.

I have this little silicone mat meant for candy or chocolate that I use! They are just little squares but perfect size for bird and rat :) they usually end up about 1 inch by 1/4" thick

I agree, that dreamy and concentrated look their eyes get when they are really savoring and enjoying what they are eating.
Oh yea, that munch munch munch with their eyes closed, or that " gosh this is good look".
I can tell when they don't like their food or dinner, you hear a " clank....bang" a few minutes after you feed them....that's them tossing their bowl. Followed by screaming....
If they like their food, you hear nothing and food bowls stay put, and no screaming.

A couple ways I do it Sadie is use those plastic Ice cubes trays, and lean the popsicle stick against inside freezer wall. It comes out on an angle but so what, birds don't care.
I pre -drill holes in popsicle stick ends so I can put a skewer threw it and hang it up!. Yum yum..
I put it on a perch Play stand with pvc base, easier to clean up the sticky! The other way, put the popsicle cubes in water bowl....minus the water for a little while.
