Arachnid Alley, Arachnophobia, Spider Season

Big, aggressive brown spiders come out in late summer and build great, strong webs right at people level. Yesterday, I had to break a web stringer to get to the front door. As I went out the front door in for my hike in the dark this morning, I walked into a web strung clear across the doorway. I quickly backed in and brushed it off. You never know when you'll get the spider with the web.

This is one of the few nuisance critters we have. Flies and mosquitos are few. We don't even have screens upstairs, except to keep birds in.

Ugh. We've got some here that look just like that only less hairy. They do try to catch people and eat them. Several people in my family have been attacked by them, sometimes they jump on people and latch on.
