Appetite and Molting?

For the past couple weeks, my BH has been eating a lot more than usual. I am happy to see that because I have always thought she could be a little rounder! Now, for the last few days I have noticed feathers falling off of her like crazy. There are new ones coming in, for sure. She is now 9 months old. So...is the increased appetite a result of molting or is there something else I should be aware of? Thanks all!

That is her first molt. And that molt is heavy! She will loose tons of feathers and will also look a little bit scabby, so don't worry if that will happen.
Give her plenty of healthy food now, extra protein is also important.

They sure know what they need, so she is a clever girl.
She can be nippy and also sleeping more, that is also normal.
