Apartment bird watching...

So I recently moved from a heavily wooded, songbird-infested, mountainous area...down to the suburbs. Today was the first day I was able to go outside and enjoy just, well, being outside. I have been cooped up in this apartment for sooo long, I haven't had a chance to enjoy the wildlife around me. I figured there must not be any birds to sit and enjoy listening to. Today I was proven wrong! I sat outside for a good 2-3 hours watching what I thought must not be there. It really is humbling, watching all these tiny, beautiful creatures enjoying the springtime around me. I have gained a new respect for the suburban life I only wish the maintenance guys would stop breaking all the swallows' mud nests, though. It breaks my heart to see their broken nests, now dirt, on the ground lining the building. They just keep building them, though. We'll see if the maintenance crew can keep up
