I brought this little girl home today. She seems to be very sweet and playful, but she is only five weeks old (she wasn't with her parents and this way I am also happy to hand feeding her myself if her weaning regresses.)

That little girl is a "Marlene" if I ever saw one. I think parrots are so human like emotionally that they deserve human names.

I think blueberry is a really good fit. Do birds learn their names like dogs though? Would that be too long for her to learn?

Birds absolutely learn their names!!! I don't think it would be too long of a name. You could also alway call her Blue for short.
