Swabs acquisition went fine. They sent me off to find a popsicle stick and they used a toy instead so by the time I came back in Jackson was all done!

He’s 90% blind now. Only one eye has a cataract but he can only see enough to get away from the syringe

Didn’t try. What light source should I use?

Just a flashlight. Let him acclimate to relatively dim light (but not full dark) for a few minutes, then shine a flashlight in his eyes, one at a time. The pupils should contract.

He’s all covered up and beak grinding now. Next Sunday when the cleaning girls come...one is a wildlife rehabber she can restrain him and I can try. Btw his whole eye is black
