2 months and 1 day

I've been smoke free for two months and one day. I'm totally celebrating right now. For 9 years of my life I smoked, not a lot, but at least a pack or two a week. The moment I decided I wanted birds and had the space, money and time for them I found the will to quit. It's now been over two months since that date and I haven't even had a craving. I think I may be addicted to birds now. >.> Either which way m'lady is taking me out to see Pirates and dinner to celebrate the little milestone. she's been wanting me too for ages and is so proud. Hurrah!

Congratulations! That is not an easy thing to do and my hat goes off to you. My husband smoked and gave up over thirty years ago of his own free will I might add! He had no help only chewing those wine gums that gave him a sore and coloured tongue for his efforts. He says if anyone should offer him a ciggy even now after all this time, he would be hooked again just after the one, so must always be on his guard. Suppose it is an addiction and so he is a recoverd addict as far as smoking is concerned and needs to remember this.
Your health will improve and your taste for food alter enormously with time.Good luck.

Thanks everyone. I really am excited about this. I didn't realize how much smoking had affected me until I stopped. Piper is definitely my new addiction. Expensive one, but so much better then being huddled outside puffing at a cigarette in the cold, rain or what not. Just got done seeing pirates (we couldn't wait) and tonight I get to pick where to eat. Mmm I'm thinkin' something with scallops!
