We rescued Jack and Sally (who we now are pretty sure is male even though they told us 1 was male and the other female), our 2 abused Green Quaker siblings about a year ago.
These two birds have come such a long way! When we got them they wouldn't even take treats. It took a long time before they would even come out of their cage. Even then getting them to go back inside was a chore, and a painful one because they were still learning that we weren't trying to kill them and they didn't have to bite us.
Things are much better now. They get to be out daily and putting them back in their cage before bed is no longer a big deal. They still aren't super trusting with the lights on, but turn them off and they are super easy to deal with.
