Found our cat poking a Smith's Black-Headed snake in the living room. Baby one, about 3" long. Caught it and turned it loose in the backyard.

We used to have a couple of garter snakes that lived in our backyard at our old rental. I'd see em every so often slithering around trying to hide.
These are nice snakes to have around. They get about twelve inches long and eat scorpions and centipedes.
