Hi guys,
I am new to this page. We’ve had a lot of rain the last couple of days. Today i found a baby mousebird (fledgeling) sitting outside in the rain. It was super cold when i found it. I took it inside to warm it up. I literally just picked it up off the ground with no issues.
My question is: what do i feed this little guy? It has all it’s feathers, but i can see that it is still very young. I have hand reared many other baby birds and safely released it back into my garden. I haven’t had a mousebird yet. I know they eat fruit etc. He doesn’t open his mouth when i offered some fruit so not sure if it will be able to eat on his own yet. I really don’t want anything bad to happen to it. Not sure what type it is either. Can anyone please give me some advice.
TIA
