I would love to hear updates and see some new pictures

Well Petrie had a breakthrough the other night. We came home late(11:30pm) and she was sleeping in her cage in our bedroom. I opened up her cage and she stepped up and let me scritch her!!! Of course she hasn't let me do that since, but we were pretty excited about that

The rescue lady sent pictures of us holding her to the original owners to show them that she was doing well and they were blown away that we were holding her. They said they were too scared to ever try that

I'll try to get more pictures today.

That is great news Heather. She is such a good girl

How heartbreaking that they never held her. That sure explains why she is such a nervous Nelly of people.

Does she like showers?
How is she eating now?

I'm afraid to put her in the shower. She gets nervous if we travel very far past her cage. I was thinking of trying it today. She eats great. She eats almost everything I put in front of her

I would be afraid to put her in the shower too
Does she try and bathe in her dish at all?

No, I don't think she has any idea how to bathe.
