I have been getting Pegasus to stepup on to my finger for some time now. What he does is come up on my finger get the treat and get off my finger. I leave my hand close to the cage door so he can do that and feel at ease. Yesterday I start to make him wait for the treat. I would hold the treat between my thumb and index finger. I would raise up the other finger and tell him to wait.
At first I only made him wait a few seconds, tell him good and give him the treat. As I was watching him things that he did was lift his feet up and down one foot at a time, also he had his mouth opened. The more I worked with him I start to see.he stopped lifting his feet and became more relaxed. And he started to wait till I gave him the treat. So he's coming along fine. I don't push how long I make him wait it only about 10 seconds. Once I feel he is relaxing more on my finger. I will make him wait longer. What I trying to do is get him to take the treat stay on my finger and take another treat.
All in due time nice and easy.
