Ya since we got the boy - he's making our house a bit noisy all night long! he doesn't seem to realize when it's dark - they're supposed to be quietly sleeping - oh no Not snowball - he coos and romances the girls ALL NIGHT LONG! LOL

Thanks It has been hard to get a good picture of Snowball, his violet is so light it just washes out and he looks like an all white or a Lightly grey dove :(

But here is a pic from a dove website shows th colors much better

They are absolutely gorgeous. I know nothing about doves or anything except parrots and was amazed they are in a bird cage with bird perches!

yep they're in them same critter nation cages as my other birds use :D

Well they were in that cage, but now Max and Snowball are in a smaller one - because we set them up to breed, and Ruby is in a different cage on her own

They're supposed to be docile birds and get along with new Doves

but Max and Ruby are/were bonded, so when we introduced Snowball they ganged up on him and pecked him and smacked him with their wing

If we put one female with him in a decent sized cage The female attacks him

they're in big cages just now as big as this one was other wise they will not get along with him at all .

Yes doves are awesome for being tame, none of them were handled before he got them, they're just gentle, docile birds in general, and the best is they've never bitten or tried(i don't think they can bite) and the top best is the can NOT scream! they do not have the ability to do so - all they can do is coo :D

I recommend them to a lot of parents who wants a nice bird for their children - most never think about doves

They are gorgeous! I love the colors of them.
I get them in the yard too, mourning doves. They like to scrunch down on the ground under the chair, near the food.
I have read that ringneck doves are almost naturally tame. The mourning doves are very beautiful up close, it looks like they have green eyeliner on. I nursed some back to health and set them free once, a long time ago.:)

Thank you all

Yep we get Mourning doves here too I get them on my Squirrel feeder -well what is supposed to be for the squirrels- outside my bedroom window :) all through sheba's pen from throwing bird food out, then of course on the ground at both other bird feeds , perched in our trees, on the roof, on the banister of the porch :D I think they may like it here lol

Your doves are lovely. I haven't ever seen any outside of a picture.
