Will they bond with me

I recently got a male and possibly female cockatiels. They are doing well and seem to be bonding to me.. they are 4 months old.. they are pretty hand tame and the 2 weeks I've had them are getting very used to me.. I was told that when there hormones kick in they will nolonger be bonded to me and that they will even become mean.. is this true and is it preventable

Birds can become frustrated and nippy. But I never heard anyone just say, "once they get older, they will get mean and hate you." You just need to keep hanging out with them and respect their boundaries. Hormones are not permanent. You just help them get through it. A good diet, and enrichment has been proven to help with behavioral problems.
