Actually, I don't think it's inexpensive to be a vegetarian.
I don't eat any red meat but am not a vegetarian, I love chicken, turkey, eggs and cheese too much!!
Oh I don't know, I have heard people say that, but growing up, a cheap dinner meant vegetarian! And that certainly wasn't compared to choice cuts, either.
You just can't beat beans for being both healthy, cheap, and filling. The most expensive thing in the store is meat....now I can't say if you eat cheap meat, like fast food burgers! And if you buy a lot of pre-made thigns, veggie burgers, etc., it may go up then.... but I save a lot of money being vegetarian! Maybe I just shop well.
