I don't think I'd trust an unknown Amazon in a fabric carrier - too much chance of the bird having a good chew.

This is one of the cages I have: Rainforest Travellor Bird Carry Cage

I use a plastic and wire cat carrier for most journeys, but Leia has figured out how to open the clasps so it's not secure. She's always supervised when in it.

The amazon I applied for doesn't have arthritis, but I was just wondering how much the twice daily medication is in the UK

Depends on what medication or medications are prescribed and the dosage. There may be some price differences between vets.

If he doesn't have it, why ask?

Maybe his diet can be fixed to help?

I was thinking of possibly applying if this one went to another person, so was wondering if we would be able to keep up the treatment, and if not, not apply in the first place.

Is 23 years old too old to be able to start harness training?

Old birds still learn. Secret and MC learned tricks here with me.

Just remember to go at the bird's pace, don't lose his trust because it takes a LONG time to gain trust back.

I will not go straight away. I will start off with basics and trust then go one to do more complicated things etc.

We were emailed earlier today and we will be having a phone conversation at some point soon to discuss. She sounds like a really lovely bird. Do you have any photographs from when you had her?

Can anyone recommend a suitable harness brand and size (available in the UK) that I would be able to use?

Can you get Aviator of AvianWeb in the UK?

I would suggest AvianWeb if you can get it

Only the aviator. I found AvianWeb on Amazon, and it says 'currently unavailable, we don't know when or if this item will be back in stock's. That usually means it doesn't come back.

I know you've said about the AvianWeb before, so I was hoping I could get that :(

Being a slightly smaller species of Amazon, would the harness made for them be a bit too big? (Just thinking about safety etc.)

The amazon recommended Aviator...

Buying options for AvianWeb:

If it's about the size of a Pionus, here's a link to the pionus size:

Hopefully you can get these on the UK versions of the websites.

That's probably what I will need. They are about 9.5 inches and pionus parrots about the same.
