When do Lovebirds start to reproduce?

When do love birds start to reproduce? They both seem like they want to but on different times... When one does the other doesn't and vise versa... is this normal? They have a birdbox but she is very territorial therefore HE sleeps in his own hut. Any help

How old are they? Unfortunately, sometimes lovebirds breed/are allowed to breed too young which can cause serious health issues for the female. Among those is an increased rate of egg binding.

When do love birds start to reproduce?

I have read that some are able as young as 5-6 months old, though as said above, it is not recommended as it can lead to health problems in the parents and having such young parents doesn´t always lead to successful clutches (more chance of abandoning the eggs mid incubation, abandoning the chicks, attacking/killing chicks, attacking/killing each other, starving to death while brooding chicks and so on).
I wouldn´t allow any breeding until well over 18 months old.
