salem has always had a peely beak, and i would occasionally go over it with a nail file to smooth it down. i just noticed today that he almost has extra layers (??) on his beak. i’m not sure what to do other than go to the vet to get his beak professionally done. has anyone dealt with a problem like this before?

Looks like a naturally growing beak! As long as he's on a healthy diet and has wood to chew and good perches to rub on, it's just cosmetic.
