At the parrot store today, I noticed this baby budgie has sideways feet! It looked hard for him to perch, what caused this? Is it from sitting funny in the nest box, or is it genetic or something? It looked like the baby on the right also had it a little on one of his feet.
It could be genetic, a deficiency from poor nutrition as a young chick, a deficiency that happened in-egg, being brooded too tightly by parents.
I suppose poor bedding in the nest box could maybe cuase this but I´m not sure on that one.
Neither of the parents have it, and it's only that chick. Well, one of the others has a little, but it might just have been how she was perched the second I took the picture. I didn't notice it when I was there.
