What kind of bird is Gonzos buddy

We met this little guy last year on our walk. He would “walk with us” and hop from tree to tree next to us, and wait for us whenever we stopped. He was gone over the winter but he’s back, and even found our house! He’ll stop in front of our house to say hi, and today came by the window to talk to gonzo. I took gonzo out, to the yard, and they had the sweetest conversation. Gonzos usually pretty timid around smaller birds, so I think they recognize each other. I’m pretty sure he’s a male (black fluffy head), but not sure what kinda bird he is. So would really appreciate any guesses!

That does look like him! The males have a little point crown on their head. He came by with a giant mayfly in his mouth around sunset. He brought his girlfriend, and they shared some sunflower seeds with gonzo (his messy crumbs were the perfect size ). We have a couple nests in the ivy wall in our yard, so hoping they’ll move in!
