ive tried a large plate with a safe depth of water on top of there cage when they are out and ive tried doing the same sort of thing inside the cage as well as well as showing them the tap on a low setting to see if thy would be ok with but they hsve reused all those trys
Try leaves. Kale, lettuce, if I remember correctly you're in Aus? so gum leaves. Wet and wash your choice of leaves thoroughly and hang in cage. You might have to introduce them slowly, you don't want to spook them.
Once they're used to this method you can combine it with a mist from a misting bottle.
You might try misting with a water bottle, just a light spray above the bird so it falls down like rain.
If that doesn't suit them, I've heard good things about offering budgies soaking wet leafy greens, like lettuce or kale. Hang it up where they can rub against it to get wet.
