My friend out in AZ has had a fancy pigeon land in her yard and is hanging out on her deck. She hasn't tried to catch it but wanted to put some food out for it. She tried some of the grain that she feeds her horses but the pigeon didn't seem to be interested.

Rice, white or brown, split peas, barley, buckwheat (kasha), canary seed, most any grain. These grains should not be fed raw (uncooked right out of the package). Pigeons are seed eaters and generally Pigeons raised on an appropriate diet will ignore bread and other 'human' food, unlike Park/City Pigeons who have learned to eat just about anything they are fed. Have her put out a dish of water for the bird as well.

Hoping that all goes well.
