Unfortunately these are no longer in production. They're ceiling protectors from Mother Pluckin Bird Toys.

Yes, Mother Pluckin' used to sell them. You can make your own ceiling protectors using a length of pvc pipe bought from a hardware store. You will need a pvc pipe cutter.

If you can't find anyone with backstock you could try checking out fishing tackle sites. Looks very much like a lure.
Or maybe someone here could make them?

That's true. Would be easy to cut from a thick sheet of clear perspex and then drill a hole in each end for hanging. I cut sheet perspex to fit the top of my fridge so stop Kobe from chewing the seal. It is easy to cut with a sharp Stanley knife against a metal ruler. You just lightly go over the same cut multiple times until it comes apart to get a smooth edge. The only difficult part is that the edges are rounded - you could just file them down. I have clear ones from Mother Pluckin'.

There are a couple of alternatives like "feathersmart parrot bird ceiling guard protector w/hardware".

They stop a bird from climbing up the chain and picking at the ceiling. I tell a lie, the edges aren't rounded - they are cut square:

Yah those are neat too in clear from MPBT, I used to buy wholesale from them several years back and sell them as well as the ones I made up.

PVC pipe is so easy. The tool to cut it is like a giant pair of funky scissors. You just insert pipe, and slowly cut.

I normally don't use open hooks in the birdroom but I use this too transport Lola when he takes off. He is wild and won't step up and bites the living daylights out of me if I grab him. (granted I would too)

PVC and two end caps. I don't use any glue since I have littles and the caps are pretty snug.

Those were made by Mother Pluckin' Bird Toys, who is no longer in business. You can find similar products out there but nothing exactly like those.

I like those! Is it the shape that keeps them from climbing up? I'm wanting to hang a large boing over our garden tub so the birds have somewhere to hang out when they don't want to shower.

@Fuzzy Could I bother you for a picture of this? We need something to keep goffins toes away from the seal and hinges so they don't get pinched. (And possibly to overhang the front of the fridge an inch so I don't have to keep cleaning poop off the front of the ice dispenser. :bored: )

How does that keep them from climbing up it? Is it just the diameter?

It's pretty slick. I've never had any bird try to scale them!

Yes, here are some old pics:

I cut out a section over the hinge, then covered it with a towel.
