What are safe supplies to use for making toys?

Hey everyone, I want to make some DIY toys but I don't know what I could use that would be safe to stick stuff together. I'm pretty sure glue is bad but I'm not sure what I can use. Any suggestions?

Are you referring to stringing items together? If so Polly Rope, Paper Rope and Hemp are some great items to use.
