There is water in my creek and my babies are back
Great critters!!! Love seeing the newt, I haven't seen one in so longI live in the Pacific Northwest. We have a lot of interesting wildlife around here. Deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, and a wide variety of small birds are the most common backyard visitors that I see.
Here are some of the better pictures I've taken over the years.
A songbird nest I found in one of my hanging plants. They were chickadees based on the parents:

A black bear up a tree, two houses down the road from my place. Notice the horse in the bottom left. That's my neighbor's horse pasture. The bear was just chilling up there until nightfall:

Not intentionally, but they wander through my backyard looking for food sometimes. You got so close to that turkey! Do you feed them?
Nutria are relatively common in my area, but I don't believe they are a native species. My understanding is they were introduced from South America and they are considered an invasive species. They are sort of like beavers - semiaquatic rodents which are sometimes hunted for their pelts. People tend to view them as pests, since their burrowing along streams/rivers causes erosion, they can get aggressive sometimes, and they compete with native wildlife.@Destiny, thank you!! I love the newt and the nutria- the nutria I definitely haven’t seen or heard of before. I don’t know anything about either of these creatures and can’t for the life of me even work out why I know the name newt when I really know nothing about them. I’ll have to Google some information about them.
I have seen many gopher tortoises here. I've never seen 2 together. What an awesome encounter!Had to share my rare find
