Here's a smattering of my local wildlife.

Black Vulture hanging out at a church, this was a very lucky spot on a very overcast and rainy day hence the poor quality, but I was still so thankful for the sighting.

And finally, my absolute favorite local wildlife that I'm so lucky and blessed to have is the majestic and regal Red-Tailed Hawk they are my main subject that I am always striving to get better and clearer pictures of. I have adored them since I was 5 years old and my love and desire to see them has never waned so it felt like the perfect way to close this post out :)

My hubby has to have treatment fast if stung - but have never had any threat from these guys at our place.
Still probably best safe rather than sorry.
Cacti often have beautiful but short lived flowers.
I'm like your husband. The last time I was stung was when I was going through basic training at Ft Jackson, SC. A bee had flown into my can of soda and it stung me on the tongue when I took a sip. Closest I've ever come to meeting my maker. Good times!

I really like having bees around, especially native ones, but safety is important for us. A family member has a severe allergy, so we’re very cautious. When close contact is unavoidable, proper protective clothing like a beekeeping suit makes a big difference. It allows you to stay protected while still respecting how important bees are to the environment.

A kind person pointed out that I'm not around much recently -- here's a post so nobody worries.

Below are some patents who are receiving care at the wildlife rescue I volunteer with.
I just help them with technology issues, but I sometimes get to see their good work.

Was actually thinking about you last night and realised you’d been quiet for a while so I for one am thankful to see your post and know you’re ok.

I've been thinking about you too with the Australian forest fires in the news recently.

Had some quite close (about a hour away) which I think has affected Burt (days of smoke filled air) but I’m not sure if it’s that or hormones/excitement.
Now we’ve had a flash flood which has affected many including a few families I know. Cars floating out to sea along with camping gear and many caravans under water. The weather this summer has been mad

Yikes, awful!
I was also reading about the flying foxes, the bats dying. Tragic.
I hope Burt is ok :(

Oh I haven’t seen that yet. Been too many furry wildlife with burns and stuff so I’ve not actually seen anything about bats. I also refuse to pay for the news and don’t have normal tv hooked up

Tiny little guy, so the photos from my phone are quite bad! I do apologise for the quality, but such a cutie.

My daughter is in QLD (Brissie based, but very mobile) so we get periodic photos of interesting plants, birds, etc. from time to time.
Won't do a Platypus. The advantage of being an environmental scientist is knowing where they are, the disadvantage is being sworn to secrecy.
