We have a pair of plovers who have made a nest in the middle of our front paddock!

Oooh! It is indeed a Red-Tailed Hawk! My absolute favorite Raptor. That's a fantastic pic of a great looking specimen.

I went back to one of my favorite spots. Lots ducks and Canadian geese out that day. Plus I was lucky enough to see a juvenile green heron. Fun to watch

We see a TON of nests around here. This is one particular nest that I had been watching for about 3 weeks. I actually saw one of the fledglings leave the nest.

I do believe you are right. That is what I thought they were till some other people told me they were leeches lol We also get some similar looking things but they are orange, if I see one again I will snap a pic.
I am not impressed they eat wood lice and some of the other bugs but as they also eat snails (which I hate with a passion) they are welcome to stay! Thanks for your help!
