Our Goshawk was back yesterday with a catch again, mum was not fast enough with the camera to catch anything but his take off.

1601460C-6023-4341-ACF2-E3E5DA6BEB41.jpeg Crap picture again I’m sorry but saving a life was more important than grabbing some photos lol.

Fledgling found its way into my pond along with its sibling. They were screaming, mum was screaming back. Lucky I have raised plants in the pond for them to stand on waiting to be rescued.

2 babies are hungry, wet and a little unhappy but at least they’re now safe in the shade house under a fern and are being fed yummy worms from our worm farms by a frantic mumma bird :)

How on earth did they manage that?? Glad they doing good now :)

Didn't have my phone on me, but while I was distracted watching galahs earlier today I saw two hares run across the paddock behind our place broad daylight, there's probably a burrow or something in there.

There’s some larger holes removed in the wire cover to access the filter pump and from where the plants used to be placed.
I probably should move the plants back under the cut out parts so they grow out the big gaps instead of through the wire but it was just encouraging too many little birds to explore too closely for bugs and water so I moved the plants to stop the littlies sliding down the plant stalks into the pond.
The big gaps are usually covered with buckets or empty pots but apparently the wind last night moved them.

Must have lost its partner as it’s been visiting alone each day a few times a day for a while now, if Birdies cage is open it goes in and sits fairly close to Birdie for a while.

In my backyard I usually see a White Heron or I might find a Black Racer while I'm walking.
I had to google black racer, is it a type of snake? :)

I love wasps, important pollinators. None are ever aggressive unless defininding their nest. And important food source for Tanager, bluebird, fly catchers, American red start and more.
