Agreed 100%! Mine fight like cats and dogs, and it's only gotten worse over time. Doesn't matter if it's between bars or out in the open. Injuries can happen INSTANTLY, so be very, very careful.
I will. If I don't think they seem confident and comfortable then I won't force anything upon them.

I find that Gigi does a little of both. I removed the boings that were blocking her ability to fly in the cage. So now she hop/flies from perch to perch and also climbs the cage walls, beak, foot, foot.
Good to know. I currently have a cage setup just to favor climbing and crawling, but there’s a bug climbing toy right down the middle.
The wee one I’m getting will be clipped, would this make a difference to the initial cage setup? I tried to make it so that she could climb from the floor to the very top by way of perches and toys.
